My writing and advocacy aspires to break down stereotypes and preconceptions about crime, justice, work, love, and family. As a writer, an attorney, and a parent, I ask the hard and sometimes humorous questions about what is right and fair and possible in our lifetime.
My forthcoming book, Rectify: A Story of Healing and Redemption After Wrongful Conviction, takes the reader on a journey with exonerees, crime victims, and family members as they search for a way forward in the aftermath of a wrongful conviction. Once bitter adversaries, they become allies. Their relationships--fraught, emotional, and powerful--help them heal and reform a broken system.
